Trick {or} Treat Bucket

While at the Dollar Tree a couple of weeks ago, I spotted this item -- over near the cleaning supplies and mops...

Forget about washing floors... in my mind, it had ~Halloween~ written all over it! And for only $1, I couldn't pass it up!

On the drive home, I knew what I wanted to do with the bucket... Use it for Halloween candy! How cute would that be?? But I knew it needed to be dressed up a little... hmmmm...

"Trick -or- Treat"

in white letters

YES!

Initially, I wanted to do vinyl letters in some cool font. But, I don't have a vinyl cutter or anything like that. And when I looked online at some Etsy vendors, I realized it would probably cost me at least $15 to have something made and shipped. That just wasn't the kind of money I wanted to spend (I'm cheap frugal, remember??). So then I figured I could just buy some big white stickers, but I couldn't find anything big enough (let alone, even remotely interesting).

But then, while walking around Michaels waiting for inspiration... I spotted a Sharpie Paint Pen. Yes, that could work! I also spotted some really cute Halloween-themed rhinestone stickers. One was a decent price at only $0.99, but the rest were ridiculously priced at $3.99 each pack! But then... amidst the Christmas dollar spot bins (yes, I said Christmas!!! SO ridiculous!), I found some small sheets of individual rhinestones. I thought... I can make my OWN Halloween designs using the individual stones! So I grabbed one plain, one green and one orange pack as well as one gem pack and one of the $0.99 stickers. The pen was on sale so all of this only cost $7.50 plus tax. Not too bad.

I copied a font I found online (can't remember where) and used the paint pen to write "Trick -or - Treat" around the bucket and then added the spider sticker and made some of my own designs using the individual rhinestones.

It's hard to get a picture of the whole thing since the bucket is so big and the wording goes all around it... but here is the "far away" view...

Overall, I think it came out pretty cute. Not bad for about $7 total (since I didn't use up the entire paint pen and I still have some rhinestones left over). What do you think??
