As mentioned HERE when I told you about our Rock Star Marshmallow Pops, we celebrated SweetPea's 5th birthday a couple of months ago. And while I still haven't gotten around to posting a summary of her Rock Star Party, I thought I would share another one of the treats we made for the snack table.
I call them...
~~Peanut Butter Dazzlers~~
Rock Star Cookies! |
I originally saw this idea here and decided they would just be perfect for the Rock Star party! They reminded me of the zebra stripes I was using throughout the party and, of course, the hot pink was perfect!
I started out with a package of peanut butter cookie mix and followed the simple directions to get those started.
Then I added some pink food coloring. I bought this pack of gel colors at Michaels over the summer. I think it was about $12 and I used a 40% off coupon (of course!).
And mixed it in until I had the color I wanted.
Next, I shaped the dough into balls and rolled them in some sugar that the girls helped me dye pink. Isn't it pretty?! I couldn't believe how easy it was to make my own colored sugar!
Here they are ready to go in the oven.
While the cookies were baking, I took all the wrappers off the Hersehy's Hugs.
As soon as you take the cookies out of the oven, simply push a Kiss/Hug into the warm dough. Let cool and enjoy!

Wish I had one right now! |
Yummy Peanut Butter Striped goodness - perfect for a ROCK STAR party!! :) |
One more shot of the plate on the snack table.
{Note: The Zebra Tags were a freebie I found courtesy of Kate at seven thirty three. I added the cookie name myself before printing on card stock.}
These probably would have been fun for Christmas in Red or Green! Maybe next year!
